There is very good store that carries just about everything about a mile East in Davis Park, which you can walk to by boardwalk. The Marina you arrive at (a short walk from Campground), has a Snack Bar, an Outdoor bar, and a Restaurant. What you need to bring: Each site has a grill, bring a bag of charcoal. Also, a tent with sand stakes, sleeping pad and bag, and camp pillow. Cutlery.Approximately one mile to the west by board walk is the Davis Park Community and the Casino. Casino has a restaurant that offers a late night bar, dancing and bands catering to a younger crowd. Water Taxis are available to all western Fire Island communities including The Pines, Cherry Grove, Sailors Haven and the globally rare Sunken Forest, Ocean Bay Park, Ocean Beach, Fair Harbor, Saltaire.Be sure to visit the Casino restaurant in Davis Park when you get hungry. Taste of Fire Island is a seasonal program promoted by the ferry company and several noted restaurants. Pay one price for dinner, ferry and parking. What to bring If you going to spend time on the beaches here bring everything you would normally bring for a beach outing and make sure you bring warm clothes for nighttime.

First there was Mr. Davis of Blue Point who owned a tract of land on Fire Island. When he died he left most of it to the Town of Brookhaven and that eventually became Davis Park. He left some of the land to his three sons. One of the sons sold his part to four friends, Lee Coffin, Ed Sembler, Joe Gerard and Al Brown. The result of that transaction was the Casino.
